Located 10 minutes from the Europa Hotel in Belfast the Lyric Theatre is a must visit when you come to the city.

Employing local actors, including Hollywood sensation Liam Neeson, Ciarán Hinds and Adrian Dunbar at early stages of their careers, its mission is to produce high quality professional theatre that is alive to the complex cultural experience and diverse traditions of the community, and to use the power of live theatre to empower, inspire, engage and educate.

Officially opened in May 2011 by Brian Friel, the Lyric’s new home on the banks of Belfast’s River Lagan, on the site of the previous theatre. Designed by O’Donnell and Tuomey, and built in a stunning blend of Belfast brick, glass, steel, concrete and Iroko timber, the new theatre is alive and dramatic at all times.

The Lyric Theatre’s spacious lobbies and bars overlook the river, and two beautiful auditoria with an exciting artistic programme, make the theatre a thriving social hub, creative learning space and a real attraction for visitors to the city.
